When I first met Ann for our initial consult, I instantly knew she was one of the sweetest people I’d ever met. She and Albert had a short courting period, but they quickly discovered they were meant for each other.
Ann had a lot of family members fly in to celebrate their Oakland, NJ wedding. After meeting her family, it’s clear where Ann gets her personality; I’ve never met a kinder group of people. Everyone was happy to be there and thrilled to be in the presence of their love!
The day began with the Anne and Albert getting ready with their respective wedding parties. Along with her mother and bridesmaids, Ann was all smiles.
Though first looks are becoming increasingly popular these days, Ann and Albert went the traditional route and waited for the ceremony to see each other. Seeing the joy on their faces was one of my favorite moments from the day.
One of the many things that brought the couple together was their strong faith, and naturally, their ceremony included a service before the vows.
Ann told me the wedding would be elegant, simple, and solemn with the theme being “God’s sovereign grace in [their] lives through Jesus Christ.” And that seemed a fitting way to describe the ceremony they had.
After the ceremony, they had a grand exit with bubbles, smiles, and kisses.
We had a lot of fun taking family and wedding party portraits between the ceremony and the reception. Skylands Manor was stunning, with gorgeous stonework, visually interesting trees, and serene spots that made the whole day feel like a wintry fairytale.
The reception was held at a local restaurant, Portobello. It wasn’t a traditional reception as there was no dancing, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t tons of fun. Everyone enjoyed the good food, the good conversation, and the great company!
Ann and Albert, I wish you all the happiness in the world. I’m so honored I was able to capture such a special moment in your lives.
